Walk, Ride and Fly

Whether you’re on foot, bike or horse, or you’ve left solid ground altogether, stunning natural experiences and breathtaking view await. Are you game?

There’s no better way to view the snaking form of the Murray and the patchwork of vineyards and orchards than from high above. In Mildura you can do it in style in the basket of a hot air balloon, with exhilarating dawn flights followed by a champagne breakfast. Scenic plane flights are also available out to Mungo National Park.
Need more adrenalin? Sky dive from 12,000 feet at Corowa, or experience the thrill of gliding from Corowa or Tocumwal aerodromes, where perfect thermals create ideal conditions for unpowered flights.
Hiking, biking or horseriding are wonderful ways to explore the region at your own pace – you can park at countless spots along the river and go exploring. Gunbower National Park, Murray Valley National Park and Yanga National Park in particular have some excellent marked bushwalking trails, while the Hume & Hovell Walking Track follows the explorers’ route out of Albury. Excellent purpose built mountain-biking trails are at Nail Can Hill in Albury and the Five Mile in Murray Valley National Park north of Moama.
And animal lovers can opt for a horse trail ride from Echuca, or through the Barmah forest for a real back-to-nature experience.
