The townships of Nathalia and Barmah are located north of Melbourne in regional Victoria and forms part of the Sun Country on the Murray region.
Barmah sits on the Murray River and Nathalia hugs the banks of the Broken Creek. You can get to Nathalia and Barmah by car, by bus and train and by air. Once in Nathalia or Barmah the best way to get around is by car.
Nathalia and Barmah are a 3 hour drive from Melbourne, following the Hume Highway and Goulburn Valley Highway (through Shepparton), or the Hume Highway and Northern Highway (through Echuca).

The Shepparton Aerodrome and Echuca Aerodrome are available for charters and small aircrafts.
Tullamarine Airport is an international airport and located just under 3 hours from Nathalia and Barmah. Hire a car or catch a V/Line bus or train from the Melbourne CBD.
When visiting Nathalia and Barmah, the best option for getting around is by car.
While both towns are small and easy to navigate on foot or bikes, they are 27km apart.
When exploring the Barmah National Park, while many tracks are 2wd accessible, a 4wd is recommended. Please check the conditions of the roads with Parks Victoria or the Visitor Information Centre (Nathalia) before you leave.
