Time To Eat

From our larger regional centres to small towns and villages, there are lots of options for eating while you’re exploring Sun Country on the Murray. Cafes and restaurants offer tasty home-made treats, and they’re always happy to warm baby bottles.

If food is your thing, take your little ones on an adventure on the Murray Farm Gate Trail. Sample cheese, olives, fruit and more (maybe a wine for the adults? Why not!), and explore the open spaces of these working farms and primary producers. While on the trail, pick up some gifts or just stock up on supplies for a picnic in one of our local parks.

The Big Strawberry has a lovely menu and features two playgrounds (0–3 and 3–12) – bring your socks! Some of our pubs and clubs also have kids’ rooms that feature slides, climbing frames and games. Check out the Shamrock in Numurkah, the Yarrawonga Golf Club and the Barooga Sports Club.

Don’t forget

To maximise fun with babies and toddlers, don’t forget to bring swimwear and towels (for you and your little ones), hats and sunscreen.

These first years with your baby or toddler are amazing and there is always new excitement in everything they do. Make sure you’ve got your camera with spare batteries or a car charger to capture the fun and adventure. Whether it’s photos of bubs on Thompson’s Beach or visiting Rich Glen Olives and their meandering garden, you’ll have treasured holiday memories to share forever.
