Swimming

Simply Swimming

On a warm day, nothing beats the simple pleasure of taking a dip in a river, lake or pool. In a landscape that’s framed by an iconic river and lake to the south, and smaller rivers, creeks and a lake to the north, there are many ways to make a splash North of the Murray.

Natural Waterways

From beautiful foreshore locations to local swimming pools, this is the easy life!

Spend the day at the Corowa Lagoon, located at the gateway to the region as you travel over the border from Victoria. This beautifully landscaped area is perfect for safe swimming, away from the sometimes fast-flowing river. With picnic tables in a beautiful grassed area, a boat ramp and public toilets located at nearby Rowers Park - there's hours of fun and relaxation to be had.

Visit Memorial Park or try Lions Park in Howlong; two more picturesque foreshore locations with all the facilities you need for a day's water adventure.

Swimming Pools

The Corowa Aquatic Centre facility features a 50m pool set within the picturesque Ball Park Precinct, a 25m indoor pool, indoor program pool, kids’ splash park and café.

The Mulwala Foreshore Swimming Pool offers the experience of swimming in Lake Mulwala, yet provides safety barriers from nearby watercraft. This Olympic sized pool follows a similar concept to many sea baths, but uses the fresh water of the Murray River. Located on the foreshore in Mulwala, the lush grassed areas and nearby picnic spot make it a great location for an easy family picnic under the trees.

If you’re in Mulwala or Yarrawonga in summer, don’t miss the inflatable challenge of Aquazone on Lake Mulwala. It’s more a fun-filled obstacle course than a pool, capturing the carefree spirit of the region.

The Howlong, Oaklands and Urana outdoor public swimming pools, which are open seasonally, provide cool water and host activities and facilities that will keep the kids (and grown-ups) content until sunset.
