Lakes, rivers and creeks flow throughout our region North of the Murray, creating a perfect playground for water-based activities. With everything in easy reach, your journey is about to get a lot more fun.
Get the adrenaline pumping behind a ski boat or aboard a jet ski. Although the mighty Murray is a slow-moving river for much of its length, those with the need for speed certainly find what they’re after.
Lake Mulwala, the Urana Aquatic Centre, and – of course – the Murray River itself are havens for waterskiing enthusiasts. Whether you’re a rookie or a professional, you’ll feel right at home gliding along the top of the water.
Why not give wakeboarding lessons a go or encourage the kids to have a crack on the ‘biscuit’ (floating in tubes for the uninitiated)? Our beautiful waterways are perfect for active watersports, such as windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing.
In the summer, visitors and locals make a splash at our region’s local swimming pools. Try stand-up paddle boarding or join fun-lovers of all ages for fun at Aquazone, the aquatic inflatable obstacle course on Lake Mulwala.
And there’s fishing – of course– in the Murray itself, or the many other creeks and lakes north of the big river. The options are endless and you’ll always be left wanting more!
