Travelling with Pets

Two and Four Legs Welcome

It’s only natural that as a pet owner you want to take the whole family when you travel. North of the Murray, our open skies, open plains and open hearts makes planning a holiday with furry friends easy. We love pets (dogs especially!). As a heartland of agriculture, we know that your pet is more than an afterthought.

So we welcome everyone, with a selection of pet friendly accommodation and attractions available to choose from. With designated off-leash areas and pet friendly camps and parks, your pooch will be begging you stay just a little longer. Why not?

Run Free!

With our free, easy, open environment there are lots of great spots to take your dogs for a run. Take a walk to the Ball Park Precinct at the end of Sanger Street in Corowa and let the dogs have a run in the designated off-leash area near the Corowa Lawn Tennis Courts. Your furry companion will make new friends while you can meet locals and have a chat about the region. You might make new friends as well.

Take in the river views and wander down to the corner of River Street and Federation Ave in South Corowa. In the off-leash area your dogs can explore among the gum trees that skirt the beautiful grassed area.

If you are heading towards Mulwala, Kyffins Reserve is a great place to free camp for the night or stop to let your pet stretch their legs. The beautiful lakefront reserve joins a walking trail that takes you into Mulwala through several delightful lakeside parks.

Howlong’s main sporting complex, Lowe Square has a special designated dog off-leash area in the south west corner. There is plenty of room for your pets to run around and explore, while you relax and plan where you’ll all explore next.
