A variety of regular events throughout the Gannawarra have been CANCELLED due to the current health crisis.

AUTUMN

For those who like a fast pace, the Kerang lakes host Ski Racing Victoria and Victorian Outboard racing titles events through Spring and into Autumn. Spectacular Ski Racing Victoria Point Score 4 (Cancelled) & 5 events take place at Lake Charm on March 21–22 and April 4–5 2020.

The Cohuna Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Show (Cancelled) is on 20 and 21 March, with two days packed full of pack with family fun and traditional agricultural competitions.

A week later, on 28 March, you can paddle for glory in the Black Swan Creek Marathon (Cancelled), a 46km canoe and kayak race along the narrow and tightly winding Gunbower Creek. The race starts from Felix L’Huillier Park in Gunbower, Victoria and finishes at Cohuna, Victoria in Apex Park.

Easter is always big in the Gannawarra, and 2020 is no exception. Look out for the cluBarham Kerang Cup (Cancelled) (horse racing), Rotary Art Show, annual Easter tennis tournaments at Kerang, Cohuna and Murrabit, the Quambatook Tractor Pull (Cancelled), “Colours of Kerang” Quilt Show , Kerang Bowling Club Easter Tournament and heaps more.

Car enthusiasts will be in heaven on 19 April at the annual Kerang Show and Shine at Atkinson Park. This is a great day featuring hundreds of cars, trucks and bikes, and other attractions such as model displays and collections.

And keep your eyes open for details about the St Kilda Film Festival which is again touring to Cohuna in June.

YEAR ROUND

Throughout the year a wide variety of events are hosted across the shire. Opportunities abound for the family to enjoy horse racing, festivals, agricultural shows, show & shine, arts performances, tractor pull championships and tournaments throughout the year.

Monthly markets include the long-running Murrabit Country Market (April 4 & Easter Saturday Cancelled), the Kerang Community Market and the boutique offerings at the Cohuna Farmers and Makers Market.

Fitness fans can register and race against the clock at free weekly Parkrun events in Cohuna and Kerang, 8am Saturdays.
