The Nyah West golf course is a sand green public course. The club was formed in 1955, with the picturesque 18 hole sand scrape course set amongst native timber on 83 hectares of Crown Land. It is the home to a large family of kangaroos, birds and other wildlife.
The golf season is restricted to six months of the year, April to September, as only the tees are watered, the rest of the course relying on mother nature to bring the fairways back to life after a long dry summer.
Competition days are Wednesdays, mainly ladies, with a 10:30am tee off, whilst Sundays is competition day for both men and ladies with tee off time 12:30pm.
The par rating for the course is 73. Visiting golfers are always welcome at the course any day of the week, and more particularly on competition days. Green fees are just $5.00 for 18 holes.
The club is in the process of installing an 18 tee, 9 basket disc golf course and which hopefully will be operational by August 2021.
