Klein-Boonschate has created evocative sculptures of the human figure, gestured to convey ‘states of being’. The fine sculptures are cast in wax or plaster and gracefully capture expression and response through gesture and poise.
Connelly-Northey uses rustic found materials and references coil-weaving, to create sculpture representative of contemporary interpretations of traditional Aboriginal Australian objects. Highlighting the bush bag (Narrbong), the collection is skillfully curated to create a unique artistic expression.
The coming together of two highly creative and respected artists adds a remarkable depth to this exhibition.
