NAIDOC Week is a national event which celebrates the history, culture and achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is a celebration that encourages all of the community to come together to participate in the many different events and cultural activities put on by community, workplaces and schools.

Council is working with the Aboriginal Action Committee to deliver the NAIDOC Corroboree Community Event on Saturday 16 April 2022 at Nowingi Place on the Mildura Riverfront.

This event will build on 2019 successful event at Nowingi Place, and will continue to be centred around a Corroboree (a traditional Aboriginal dance ceremony that brings people together and may take the form of a gathering or sacred ritual) the event will also include cultural workshops, stalls, entertainment and food.

This event is part of Council’s commitment to reconciliation through its Reconciliation Action Plan and recognition of the importance of cultural celebrations and recognition of the community, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the community.
