Contact Mungabareena and Water Works
Mungabareena Reserve is an important cultural reserve that has significance to many Aboriginal clans in this region. It is where Aboriginal peoples from different clans met to trade before continuing towards Mount Bogong to hunt for Bogong moths.
The Waterworks area is further along from Mungabareena, and is also a popular spot for recreation on the Murray River at Albury. There are many other recreational areas along the banks of the Murray and chances are you'll find your own pristine river beach to enjoy. Wildlife abounds from this life giving water source - you could spot a platypus scrabbling for yabbies in the shallows near the river bank, watch as wood ducks wade through the water, or see a rainbow bee-eater perform aerial feats in the hunt for its insect dinner! Picnic tables can be found along th eriver's edge.
