Getting Here

People travel from all directions to Swan Hill, which is a major tourism and service hub.


Driving time

Swan Hill is just a stone’s throw from Mildura, Bendigo, Echuca, Deniliquin and Ouyen. We are in easy reach too:

Train

Like any great Aussie town, the Swan Hill train station is smack bang in the centre of town, and only few minutes walk to the mighty Murray River. Arrive, and before you know it, you will be sipping a cool drink in the shade of a towering river redgum.

Travelling here from Melbourne or Bendigo?

You can catch the train from from either Melbourne or Bendigo to/from Swan Hill twice a day.

There is also combined train and coach services between Swan Hill and Echuca.

Bus/Coach

Departing from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne, buses travel via Castlemaine and Bendigo throughout the day.

You can also get a bus from Sydney, via Canberra and Albury.

After your Swan Hill visit, you can continue to travel to Mildura and then onto Adelaide.

Car Rental

Major car rental businesses including Hertz and Nifty operate from Swan Hill.

If your flying into Melbourne or even Bendigo, pick a rental car from the airport or hire one from Swan Hill for a day or two to explore the region.

Walking and Cycling

One of the best things about Swan Hill is that you can walk, or cycle around town with ease!

Bus

The Swan Hill City bus service travels an hour-long 23km route through town in both directions. The service operates Mon–Fri during business hours, and on Saturday morning.
