Easter Weekend Activities

Easter is one of our favourite times in River Country. The leaves are starting to crisp and change colours but days are still pleasant and warm. There's a range of activities happening over the Easter weekend.

Saturday 16th April

Echuca Farmers Market,
8am – 12pm Aquaitic Reserve, Echuca
Echuca Farmers Market is an accredited Farmers Market, stock up on locally grown produce and homemade goods.

Mathoura Easter Fair
Livingstone Street Mathoura, 9am - 1pm
The annual Mathoura Easter fair will be back this year and better than ever!

This year the fair will feature a tug-of-war, shoe bags, competitions and raffles, free children’s amusements and games plus a visit from the easter Bunny!

Jeraly Woolshed Open Day
Moulamein Heritage Village, Paterson St, Moulamein NSW
The historic Jeraly woolshed which is part of the Moulamein Heritage Village will be open on Easter Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity to check out the progress of the newly built Moulamein attraction. Entry is $2 per person

Sunday 17th April 2022

Mathoura Annual Duck Race
1pm Picnic Point boat ramp, Picnic Point

Hundreds of bright yellow rubber ducks will take to the water in the annual duck on the Murray River at Picnic Point. Money raised from the event will go towards supporting the Mathoura Preschool and Mathoura football Club. Ducks race tickets are $5.

Echuca Moama Market,
8am – 2pm, Kerrabee Soundshell, Moama
You’ll find all sorts at the Echuca Moama market including Collectables, Fresh Produce, Clothing and Accessories and Food and Drink stalls.

Some other suggestions for the weekend

  • Enjoy a lazy afternoon, have a glass of red and relax on the lawns at Barham Vines. Another favourite pastime is to sample the seated wine tasting with a delicious cheese platter or for something more substantial wood-fired pizzas are available most afternoons. Open both Easter Saturday and Sunday. Bookings are recommended
  • Opening of Barham’s newest food and wine bar, Ivy Joyce. A small casual food and wine bar focusing on simple and delicious small plates to graze over using featuring local produce. Open for lunch and dinner Over the Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday. More information here
  • Want to try something slightly different this Easter? Try an EPIC burger from the Koraleigh General Store? Certainly worth the drive, we recommend checking out their social media channels and your’ll get an idea of what we’re talking about 😉
  • Love everything chocolate? Indulge in some local handcrafted chocolates at the Echuca Chocolate Company! Located in the old Echuca Port precinct Echuca Chocolate Co craft exquisite, fresh chocolates with beautiful decorations and have an impressive selection of chocolate liqueurs.

  • Enjoy some autumn sun on the lake at Moulamein. Kayaks are available to hire from the Moulamein Caravan Park. Moulamein Lake is home to a variety of birdlife and makes for a restful adventure.
  • School Holidays at the Port of Echuca Discover Centre, there a re a selection of great activities happening down at the Port. Booking's are now open for Kids Adventure Tours, Art Classes and Boat Building.More information here.
