On the corner of Havelock Street and Sturt Street stands a big gum tree, the only one of its kind left standing in that vicinity. On inspection this old tree has two scars, whether they are Canoe Scars or something of some other value to the Aboriginal people from this area is unknown. Mulwala township is lucky to have such a valuable historical tree to nurture and be proud of its beauty.
