Bring the family and make some memories in our towns and parks, in the forest or on the water.
Summer in our region are nothing short of glorious. Warm summer days are great for swimming, skiing, kneeboarding and cooling down in our many lakes and rivers. Birds, animals and fish are all out in the cool mornings and long, balmy evenings, making it a perfect time for kayaking and fishing in peaceful surrounds.
For a bit more action, Lake Charm, Kangaroo Lake and Cohuna’s Ski Run draw waterskiing enthusiasts from across the country, and there’s always someone casting a line and angling for a Murray Cod, with the season kicking off on 1 December.
Major towns have extensive play equipment in their public parks that are perfect for entertaining children of all ages and expending energy. Shady trees and ample free barbecues make a picnic or some sausages and salad an easy meal option. And the newly-reconstructed Cohuna Beach at Apex Park is set to be a popular destination in the warmer months.
Teens can ride the trails or test their skills at one our 3 skate parks. Maybe work a trick at Kerang’s newly constructed skate park which has hosted State Championships. If the weather is a little inclement, or you need a break from the sunshine try knocking over some pins at the Kerang Family Ten Pin Leisure Lounge.
