Cohuna

Discover the many things to do in Cohuna on page 7 of the Gannawarra Visitor Guide

Cohuna, situated on the Murray Valley Highway between Echuca and Swan Hill, is a bustling township with a strong commercial centre.

The picturesque main street is situated opposite the Gunbower Creek (which forms Gunbower Island) and is one of the prettiest places along the Murray River.

Cohuna’s CBD provides shoppers with a relaxed, friendly feel and has everything you need. Take some time to explore the many retail shops with food & coffee, clothing and fashions, electrical, furniture and giftware. You won’t be disappointed!

Jens On George is a must visit, attracting visitors from afar with its great atmosphere and indulgent menu of waffles, burgers, beers and more!

The “Cohuna Beach” on the Gunbower Creek is a popular place for families to gather and is only a short walk from the Cohuna Waterfront Holiday Park and the main street.

The majestic Gunbower National Park and Gunbower State Forest provide a picturesque natural bush setting for campers who regularly visit the area. The majority of visitors spend time relaxing in their riverside camps, bushwalking, fishing, bird watching or kayaking along the creek. The many walking and cycling tracks in the Gunbower forest are accessible from Cohuna and the many campsites along the Murray River or Gunbower Creek provide a real nature based experience.

Water sports are very popular on the Gunbower Creek just upstream of town with visitors returning annually for their water-based holidays.

Local events are held throughout the year including the Cohuna Show held annually in March and the Big Cohuna Festival held in November. Sporting events such as tennis and golf tournaments are also hosted in town.
