Mayrung

The heart of grain country

With a population hovering somewhere around 150 (depending what day it is), Mayrung is a tiny village community but a big part of our region’s agricultural life. Irrigation makes grain production possible, and the locals have taken to rice and other grains with gusto.

With a small primary school, this village could be a template for the way locals who live on the land make a strong community. The landscape changes through the seasons and makes for a lovely scenic drive just 30km from Deni.
