If you can’t bear the thought of having a getaway and not bringing your pet, you’re in luck! Right along the Murray River, in towns, villages and camping grounds, there are places that welcome your four-legged friends.
While not everywhere has an open-doggy-door policy on pets, you’ll find plenty of caravan parks, B&Bs, and even the occasional motel that does. Call ahead to check that pooch is welcome as pet policies may vary between operators and during peak and off-peak times.
If you’re camping, keep in mind that regulations may prohibit pets in state and national parks. For more information about pets in parks refer to NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service or Parks Victoria.
