Numurkah & District Historical Society was formed in 1964 to collect, preserve and display historical artefacts and records, especially those of local historical significance.

Their museum provides the public with an opportunity to explore their artefacts and records in the many rooms of their building. They are located in the original Bank of Victoria in Numurkah. The building is over 120 years old.

Permanent displays include: police cells, isolation/medical ward, tool-shed, dairy shed, bedroom, laundry, kitchen, bathroom. As well as permanent displays, they also regularly change displays in their front room. They also have many records that can be accessed for family research purposes. As well as opening to the public on designated days, and cater for groups (by appointment)

Accessibility

  • Caters for people who use a wheelchair.
