The main Tocumwal Beach is a popular sandy spot on a gentle Murray River bend. Just 10 minutes’ walk from the main street of Tocumwal, the camping area welcomes all comers at a very low nightly rate.
Picnic tables, flush toilet, fresh water, (cold) showers, and location make this a popular spot for campers. The large sandy foreshore hosts around 40 sites and draws motorhomes and school holiday families. It’s first-in, best-dressed here, so arrive early to nab a spot during busy periods. Dogs are welcome too, but owners need to remain in control at all times.
Locals and visitors come for a swim in the warmer weather, and – given its close proximity to Tocumwal town centre – creature comforts aren’t far away!
There’s a boat ramp nearby, and shallow beach areas, but swimmers be careful; the river is deep and the currents can take swimmers by surprise. All the same, it’s a great open, sunny area to cool the feet and enjoy a well-supervised splash and paddle.
Location
