Winter Warmers Food and Drink

Jump in the car and travel around the Sun Country for high-quality local produce. On cool days, it’s easy to find delicious fresh food to enjoy by an open fire. Enjoy grazing platters and menu specials while sampling the fruits of a winemaker’s labour at Monichino Wines, or add on a tour of an 1842 homestead to your menu at Byramine Homestead.

Head to Rich Glen Olive Estate for much more than olives (although they’re worth the trip!). Cold-spun olive blossom honey, preserves, olive oil, tasty snacks and cakes are all home made at this warm and welcoming farmgate destination near Yarrawonga. Or enjoy the unique, tasty menu and stunning grounds at Cactus Country in Strathmerton. Book ahead for the surprisingly beautiful Cactus and Succulent Sundown Tours, running March to September.

And of course, you can always find generous servings of hearty food at any of the pubs, clubs and taverns across the Sun Country. From the bustling Bundalong Tavern to the laid back fare at the Wunghnu Tavern or the Shamrock in Numurkah, you’ll never go hungry in our region.
