You are… The Rambler

You’re happiest when the trees outnumber the people and the phone signal gets a little patchy.

While everyone else is rushing, you notice the curious kookaburra watching from above or the smell of the towering river red wood eucalyptus . And an interesting rock formation could well be the highlight of your holiday.

Nature has always been part of a Murray holiday. Birds calling in the morning, bare feet in the grass, looking for tadpoles at the water’s edge and sitting outside until it gets too dark to see.

But what about the places you never knew were here? Beyond the familiar riverbanks, you’ll discover bird-filled wetlands and landscapes that look like they belong on another planet.

There’s a lot more wild in The Murray than you might remember.

Start your tradition

Take the time to look a little closer and listen a little longer. Keep the binoculars handy around Kerang Lakes, or take the Gunbower Forest Drive slowly enough to notice what everyone else might miss. Rare regent parrots and freckled ducks, towering river red gums or that new favourite rock formation ... you never know which piece of the wild will become part of your holiday story.
